We are a group of ordinary Bronx citizens who work together for progressive legislative and political change. We want to unite folks from every neighborhood in an all-volunteer network which reflects the diversity of the Bronx including all of its differences in race, gender, sexuality, income level, religion, ethnicity and age.

 

Most of us travel through life in the same boat. Let's use the oars to row in the same direction instead of using them to whack each other over the head. If we can unite, quality healthcare, good housing, healthy food, clean water, a good education and a decent job will become rights for all Americans. 

 

Our goals include:

Eliminating economic and social inequality

Preventing America from descending into dictatorship

Making democracy in America democracy for all, not just for a favored few

Combating the harm caused by climate change and  halting further global warming.

 

Democracy works best when people are informed and involved. We get information about progressive issues out to the public, and we mobilize people to make those we elect to work for the people instead of for special interests.

 

We are not doing this alone. We are part of something bigger. After Bernie Sanders ran for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2016 people who supported him were inspired to continue working for progressive goals. That desire resulted in the formation of a statewide coalition called the New York Progressive Action Network.---NYPAN for short. It consists of chapters all across the state from Buffalo to Brooklyn, dedicated to making the changes which Senator Sanders advocated in his 2016 campaign.  We are the Bronx chapter of the New York Progressive Action Network.
